Who we are
Inpatient Drug Rehab New York is a private referral and placement resource for New Yorkers and their families who need help accessing licensed inpatient addiction treatment. Our office is at 165 Broadway (One Liberty Plaza), 23rd floor, in the Financial District of Lower Manhattan. The phone — (347) 329-2331 — is answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by placement advisors based in New York. We are not a licensed treatment facility, not a detox center, not a doctor's office. We are the referral service that connects callers with OASAS-certified inpatient programs across New York State and the tri-state region.
Our mission
Our mission is to make inpatient drug rehab placement in New York faster, more transparent, and more clinically appropriate than the alternatives. That means: free insurance verification for private PPO plans before placement; plain-English explanation of what New York State insurance law covers (including the 28-day no-preauth rule); clinical matching based on substance, presentation, geography, and timing — not on which facility pays the highest referral fee; and honest guidance even when the honest guidance is that we are not the right resource for your situation.
How placement works — three steps
Step 1: You call (347) 329-2331. A placement advisor listens to the situation — substance, duration, prior treatment history, insurance carrier, geography, timing, family involvement, work considerations. We're asking practical questions, not running a script.
Step 2: We verify your insurance. If you have a commercial PPO, the advisor calls the benefits line with your policy information (takes 15-45 minutes) and confirms in-network coverage, deductible, out-of-pocket max, and any plan-specific limits. This is free.
Step 3: We present 1–3 program options that fit your clinical picture, insurance, and timing. You decide. If you say yes to one, we coordinate the admission and transfer the handoff to the program's intake team. No commitment at any earlier stage.
What we are NOT
We are not a licensed treatment facility. We do not run a detox, a residential program, or a clinic. We do not employ licensed therapists, psychiatrists, or medical staff in clinical roles at this address. The 165 Broadway office is where placement advisors work — it is not a treatment location.
We are not a government program. We are a private referral and placement service.
We are not a resource for callers without private PPO insurance. If you have Medicaid, Medicare, or no insurance, we'll point you to the OASAS Treatment Locator at findaddictiontreatment.ny.gov, NYC Well (988), or NYS HOPEline (1-877-8-HOPENY). Getting you to the right resource — even if it isn't us — is the honest answer.
We are not an emergency room. For medical emergencies, call 911.
Our placement advisors
Placement advisors at Inpatient Drug Rehab New York include certified addiction professionals (CASAC-T, CASAC, CADC where credentialed in other states), licensed clinical social workers (LMSW), and peer-certified specialists with lived experience of recovery. Several advisors have intake or case-management experience from OASAS-certified NY inpatient programs and from insurance benefits administration. When you call, you are not speaking to a sales representative — you are speaking to someone whose professional day is insurance verification, clinical matching, and placement coordination. Team bios and specific credentials are listed in the advisor cards below (CC: populate from real team data at build time; if advisors have not yet been hired, use an advisory board panel with consented members and their LinkedIn links in sameAs).
Editorial and data standards
Every statistic on this site is cited with a source URL. Primary sources are: NYC DOHMH Epi Data Briefs, NY State DFS Insurance Circular Letters, OASAS guidance, NIDA, SAMHSA, CDC, and peer-reviewed addiction medicine literature. We refresh statistics quarterly as new DOHMH and state reports publish. If you find a number on this site without a source citation, please call (347) 329-2331 and report it — we consider a missing citation a bug, not an acceptable design choice.

Frequently asked questions
Do you charge callers?
No. Insurance verification and placement are free to the caller. Our business model is based on facility-side referral arrangements at placement, consistent with industry standards — we are paid only when a placed caller is admitted.
Are you affiliated with a specific facility?
We work with a network of OASAS-certified NY and tri-state inpatient programs. We are not the captive referral arm of a single facility. When you call, advisors present options that fit clinically — not the single program our boss owns. If you suspect a conflict of interest at any point, say so and we'll address it directly.
What makes you different from other referral services?
Honest answer: the market is crowded with referral services, and many of them are low-quality. What we argue distinguishes us: actual NY-based advisors, clear written explanation of NY insurance law (most services don't explain the 28-day rule), transparency about what we are and aren't, and a willingness to send callers elsewhere when we're not the right fit.
